Blast Off with a Clear Resume Objective Statement
resume objective statement rocket
Your resume objective statement may be just the thing to propel you to new career destinations.

One fact keeps coming through loud and clear about business: nothing about the corporate world will ever be as it used to be. Work hours, workplaces, work descriptions, and work tools are all different. We can fight it, but we will inevitably lose.

Now’s the time to decide whether set your sites higher, or get left behind in the dust.

If a new career path is what you need, set aside some quality time for introspection. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is your career goal?
  • What skills do you bring?
  • What education have you gained?
  • What experience do you have?
  • Who do you seek to help and how? This last question aligns yourself with suitable employers.

Now, start writing.

Here’s an example: “I am a highly-skilled technical writer with experience documenting mental health protocols in Sitecore seeking a position as a technical writer within the health care industry.”

And another: “Highly-motivated team builder with experience in educational software sales looking to apply strategic planning and marketing skills to growing relationships and account volume.”

If you are ready to blast off into new career realms, you have to set clear, concise goals. Line up with an employer. Communicate who you are and what your goals are in language they understand.
